⚠️ PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT – SCAM ALERT ⚠️

Newcastle Mobility has been made aware of a scam involving someone falsely using our business name, identity and photographs of our showroom.

The scammer has been contacting people via WhatsApp, claiming to be selling an R9 Mobility Scooter and requesting payment using Apple Gift Cards / Apple Cards.

🚨 PLEASE BE AWARE: THIS IS NOT NEWCASTLE MOBILITY.

We strongly encourage members of the public to:

  • Do not respondto these messages.
    • Do not send any money, gift cards or payment details.
    • Do not provide the person with any personal or financial information.
    • If you receive a message claiming to be from Newcastle Mobility and are unsure whether it is genuine, please contact our office directly on 02 4962 4007 before making any payment.

Newcastle Mobility will never request payment via Apple Gift Cards or similar gift cards.

Unfortunately, the individuals involved are using our business identity and photographs without our permission in an attempt to appear legitimate.

Please feel free to share this post to help us warn others and prevent anyone from becoming a victim of this scam.

Newcastle Mobility is an approved supply agent to ALLIANZ and BRIGHTSKY. We can fulfill your local DVA equipment needs. If you are a prescribing therapist, please click on your preferred provider below for a link to their website. Please ensure you list Newcastle Mobility as your preferred Supplier.

The RAP program (Rehabilitation Appliance Program) is an Australian Government run program, administered by the Department of Veterans’ Affairs, which supplies support equipment to eligible members of the veteran community to help them maintain their independence as they grow older. RAP appliances are available to Gold and White Card holders with a clinically assessed needs. Daily living Aids and Mobility Equipment are provided based on a referral from a Local Medical Officer, or approved health professional such as an Occupational Therapist or Physiotherapist.
